Measurements

The simplest way is to do a perimeter plan.  Draw a rough diagram of the area starting from one corner, write down each measurement as you go following the perimeter including any recesses and projections.  Whatever the shape, mark the position of doorways if possible, which you should measure fully into.  Don't worry whether its metric or imperial we can convert if necessary.  If you are including stairs we need the combined tread and riser measurement with the step width and the number of steps.  If they are irregular shaped steps, just take the maximum in each direction.
